Left Face “Mystery” B, Table Mountain (2B)
23 July 2022 All day
This route starts at the bottom of Platteklip Gorge, then branches off to the left up the left face of Table Mountain. It has some nice scrambles (about B grade), a steep hidden gully that unlocks the way through the lower cliffs and a nice interesting step-over finish at the centre of the top of the left face. There are wonderful views of Cape Town and surrounds virtually all the way. Some of the scrambles and traverses are exposed. The route should take about 2 and ½ hours to ascend. Depending on the group we will take an alternative route down or hop onto the cable car. (pensioners pay only R50)

The club uses a grading system (given in brackets after the hike name) to make it easier for club members to communicate the difficultly of an outing. You can check out our Meets Grading page for details on how to use the grading system, or alternatively you can contact the meet leader directly if you are unsure of the difficulty of a meet.
