Groot Winterhoek Peak – 2077m (3B)

Multi -day wild camping in the Groot Winterhoek reserve. Long days but wilderness at its best, the itenary is below. Permits need to be arranged, please Contact Frans Slabber, 082 852 4392 byeboer@gmail.com asap.
Friday 15 April: Meet 08h00 at Groot Winterhook Reserve entrance.Hike 13.2km along established past Kliphuis to camp next to the river. (895m -> 1137m)
16 April. Hike 6km Camp 1 to Camp 2 off trail ( -> 1462m)
17 April: Hike 8.2km off trail Camp 2 -> Summit -> Camp 2 (1462m <=> 2077m
Monday 18 April: Hike 8.2km off trail Camp 2 -> Summit -> Camp 2 (1462m <=> 2077m
Tuesday 18 April: Hike 13km along established path to reserve entrance. (1462m->)
Please note, you will need: Meduim/high fitness level. ie. strong hiker and regular exercise routine. Experience with off-trail hiking.
