2-day Table Mountain Tour
9 March - 10 March
Day 1: This is a 2-day Table Mountain Tour, covering the length and breadth of Table Mountain, from Rontree Estate, above Camps Bay to the Back Table, via Corridor Ravine, to join the Apostles Path, past Tranquility Cracks and Rendevouz Cave to the MCSA Hut. Some exposure just after Tranquillity Cracks, as we have to descend the side of Slangolie Buttress, but easy to climb down (B-grade, with lots of foot and hand holds), and exposure is about 7m.
Day 2: Sunday morning we walk just a few hundred metres, past the Waterworks Museum to the Hely-Hutchinson dam and then head up Disa Gorge and over the old Aqueduct to join Smuts Track to Maclears Beacon. After a break at Maclears, we head across to Platteklip Gorge to join the path down to Echo Valley, through Ark Valley and Valley of the Red Gods, back to the hut for a quick break … before following the Jeep Track, past Alfred, Victoria and De Villiers Dams, Overseers Hut and down to Constantia Nek, by late-afternoon.
